If it came out of the same car it will. If it didn't you need to check bracket and mount positions and drum to drum length. If it fits under the car, brackets can be welded onto new unit to make it fit but pinion angle, centerline and side to side positioning need to be exact. Unless its a fresh 12bolt unit that extra work may not be worth the effort though.

MY 1987 CHEVY MONTE CARLO LS ENGINE RACES WHEN START IT UP.IT WON'T STOP TILL, MAYBE 7 0R 8 MINUTES

Two places to start. First clean the throttle body/carb. Brake clean and a tooth brush. Clean inside as best and deep as you can, clean the back of the throttle plate and were it seats the most. It will take a few seconds, start the car up and spray the cleaner in the throttle as you rev it up. Then after that, I would replace the engine coolant sensor.

1987 Chevy SS Monte Carlo. What tool do you use to remove the valve covers?

Sockets and rachets. If you can't get a socket and rachet on the bolts, then you will have to use a closed end wrench or a box wrench sized perfectly to the head of the bolts.

How do you remove the rear back seat to a 2002 chevy monte carlo

Most cars that do not have bolts are hook at the front end of the seat. You need push down really hard on the front end of the seat and pull the seat forward and up. This will unhook the latch. Good Luck

Can i change the front end on my 86 monte carlo ls to a ss???

I can't see it being a problem. SS was basically just an option on a platform for all Monte Carlos.Everything from an SS should bolt on or in, depending on how far you go with it. Hope this helps.
