I have a 2000 Buick Century limited. While driving or turning either direction I can hear grinding. When making slow sharp turns either way can feel a thumping. What would it be?

Wheel bearing would be my guess , without hearing the noise ! CV joints make a clicking sound when turning , when bad ! Have it checked by a qualified repair shop before your wheel falls off .

Sounds like a ball joint seeing that the cv joints were replaced, have you had it aligned?

When making a sharp left turn (like into a driveway or parking space) you can feel & hear a thump. Just had driver's side cv joint replaced, that didn't fix the problem.

This is usually a ball joint. Jack that side up, and just as the wheel starts to clear the pavement, does the bottom slide out a touch? If so, replace you ball joints, and the problem will go away.

Bad axle

A bad axle will make a continuous clicking or clunking sound when making a sharp turn (left or right), but if they are really worn out it would not have to be a sharp turn for them to make that noise.

When I make a sharp left turn I hear a thunk in the rear axel - tire area and today when I backed up out of a parking stall it made an awful grounding sound from the rear axel (tire area)

Hello,

hard to tell wether it is just a simple stone stuck somewhere in the brakes, or ( sounds more likely ) your bearing may be ready for replacement. In any case, I´d recommend to go to the dealership to be sure it is ok.
