I turn the key and everything on the dash lights up, but when I push in the clutch and try to start it nothing happens. What could be causing this? I tried jumping it and nothing . . .

The probalem with the Northstar engines, is the starter is under the intake manifold. If you are comfortable with taking this off, do it. It is not that hard, and the gasket is a big pre-molded O-ring that can be reused. I would check the soleniod and make sure the starter is the problem, as you should be able to use a set of jumper cables and jump the starter directly at the solenoid, to see if it will turn the engine over. If it won't you will have to remove the intake and change the starter. It is not as hard a problem as it seems, as you can leave most of the components hooked up and just move the manifold enough to get to th starter. Make sure you disconnect the battery before preforming this kind of work.
