Locate the distributor cap on the driver's side of your Nissan Sentra secured to the engine block. It will be a black cap with spark plug wires running from the spark plugs to the cap.

Good luck.

Other way, Locate the distributor on your Nissan Sentra by the cables running to it from the spark plugs. The
distributor is in the engine block and it should be easy to access.

SOURCE: Is there a distributor cap in a 2004 sentra?

From 2001 onward Sentra's had distributor and distributor-less systems. If you have a 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L or 2.4L engine then you have a distributor. If you have the popular 2.5L then you do not have a distributor cap. You can go to Promanuals for a full factory service manual with step by step instructions, diagnostic procedures, and diagrams.

1999 Nissan Sentra Cam Shaft Sensor: So, I'm reading conflicting reports. Is it necessary to completely replace the distributor when the cam shaft sensor breaks or can the sensor be replaced by itself. ...

yes cam sensor is located in the distributor best way is to replace distributor .you will need a 12mm wrench. and a Philips screw driver. first mark the position the base is at because its adjustable.remove the cap with wires still attached and move it to the side.remove the rotor in the center.remove the distributor. upon istalation of new one the slot at bottom of distributor only goes on in one position then reinstall rotor and the cap.

What parts would i need for tuning up my sentra 04 (specific)

Your car has a coil on plug ignition system. So, you would replace the spark plugs, air filter, cabin air filter and PCV Valve. There are no spark plug wires, distributor cap or rotor and the fuel filter is in the tank, not requiring replacement for the life of the vehicle.
