it depends what their door rate is to do the job and they can charge what they can as far as parts are concerned.you don`t say if its a dohc or a sohc(dual or single cam motor).roughly it would take about 3.5-5 hours to change the timing belt and about .4-.7 to change the water pump.call around and compare prices as this doesn`t have to be done at a dealer.
It could the water pump is going starting to wobble that may have been the reason the belt went in the first place belts don;t usely do that for now reason
Do you know anything diagnostic's ? Using a more advanced scan tool to look at sensor data ? How to test automotive electrical testing ? Not just replacing part's . Learning how to diagnose , using tool's to test fuel pump pressure , pulling a spark plug to check for spark . Sounds like you should have a qualified repair shop diagnose the problem ,if you haven't all ready . 048 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Starting Problems 064 Emission Tests Scan Data Pre Check
COULD BE TWO THINGS...WIPER MOTOR FUSE,WHICH YOU CAN CHECK AND REPLACE,,OTHER WIPER MOTOR ITSELF,,WORKED OUT,BURNED OUT,,.EITHER CHECK IF POWER IS GOING TO IT,BY STRIPPING PANEL HIDING WIPER MOTOR AND RODS,CAN DO IT YOURSELF,IF YOU HAVE A BIT OF KNOW HOW.OR GARAGE TELL YOU IN ONE HOUR
I would check the Idle Air Ctrl. valve.if not opening when coming to a stop eng will starve for air cause air is not bypassing the throttle plate when the plate is closed
look around the power steering pump, (Under or maybe behind) you should see a belt tensioner, loosen it and any other brackets close to that have a sliding point, once loose, the belt should slip right6 off, pay close attichion to the way it comes off, you don't wanna put it back on backwards, or your water pump will run in the wrong direction and cause it to over heat
