I have 2002 doge caravan and transmission stock in 2 gear

Vacuum leaks. ( hissing noise around the engine). Tune up (plugs and wires). clean the throttle body(inside of it). All these can cause rough idle. The dieing can be from transmission problems. Can you rev the van up and keep it running while in gear? Or does it die then too? You can replace the solenoid pack on the outside of the transmission for around $250, if you do it yourself. If you do this, DO NOT get any dirt in the holes of the transmission where the solenoid pack sets. Clean it well before you remove the old pack.

Take it to a transmissision shop to be check out, Before it gets worse, Unless you got money to burn,

Code 733 is a wrong gear ratio for 3rd gear, and code 734 is a wrong ratio for 4th gear. The computer is getting a reading from the transmission that the output shaft is turning at a speed different from what it should be when the transmission is in each gear.
Code 776 is for a problem with a pressure control solenoid.
Could be a problem in the transaxle or the control module.

Lots of possibilities from a bad solenoid pack to a broken gear or blown internal seal. No way you're gonna DIY your way out of this. Get it to a shop.

Lube Guard makes a friction modifier additive for transmission fluid that requires it. You can find it at major auto parts stores. Go to Lube Guard. com and check it out.

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable again for about 5 minutes then reconnect and see if things reset.

trans control module signal intermittent loose connection or frayed wire

The fuse box for a 2002 Dodge Caravan SE is located next to the battery under the hood on the right side. good luck this is according to several doge owners.

i have a 2002 dodge caravan drove fine yesterday morning then tried to go back out and acts like it is stuck in 2nd gear and wont shift but will go in reverse just no other forward gears

You have to use ATF4 transmission fluid for the dodge caravan. If you changed the fluid and the filter, a quick relearn has to be performed by a technician. It requires a special computer device. Hope this helps.
