Tools needed to remove front wheel bearing hub no 96 chevy cavalier
Removing the hub isn't a difficult task and there is sufficient tools in the average mechanic's toolkit, except perhaps a good universal ball joint splitter.
Dismantling the hub assembly to replace the wheel bearing is another matter entirely. There are three main reasons why a wheel bearing fails prematurely - excess heat soak from a defective brake, impact damage or scale buildup within the housing pushing the bearing out of round.
The combination of heat and corrosion can make removing the bearing difficult and while a press is ideal for reassembly removal can come down to brute force and ignorance, applied with experience. Thorough cleaning prior to, during and afterwards is the key to a more successful job.
