Tech notes
The P0305 code means that the cylinder 5 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 5. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes"

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

P0305 Jaguar Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
2007 Honda Fit with 80K. Also Intermittenly misfire on heavy exceleration. Has set service engine soon light. Took it in twice and misfire codes displayed but not able to recreate and couldn't find anything wrong.
Hi, i have the same problem on my Fit (2007 120K) :( Did you find what is causing that ? I took my car to the dealer. They suspected coils but sais that if one's broken, it should not be intermittent... Spark plug seems ok even if they are showing some usure. They were suspecting motor valves; they founded some exhaust valves too tight. Paid 180$ for nothing; my problem still there. How a head gasket can cause misfire ? Can it be fuel filter, fuel pumps or injector ? Can it be timing chain or belt ; don't know the type in that model ?

I have a similar problem. It happens more often on hot days with Air conditioning on. Also happens when accelerating. Could it be a stretched timing belt. Car has 57K miles.
I had the same problem on a Honda Fit and found that replacing the coil packs and the spark plugs with OEM fixed it right up. Do not get after market. The Honda Fit has specialized coil packs and plugs. I can tell you tired aftermarket replacements and the problem came back quickly, but the OEM parts were solid!
