I have a 2008 Yaris Hatchback and the seatbelt light is flashing while the airbag light is steady on; both seatbelts are fastened, had recent rear end collision
Neither one was affected. I was reclined in the passenger seat when we were hit from the rear. The impact caused my weight to shift forward and back rapidly while belted into the seat. The dealer said the sensor had to be reprogrammed, and charged me $92.50.Neither one was affected. I was reclined in the passenger seat when we were hit from the rear. You’ll need to get the error code read first, but I’d hazard a guess that the SRS system is holding the fault code permanently till cleared, or there is a subsequent fault.
53 second row left seatbelt sensor (subfault)
43 third row left frontal stage 3 deployment control (subfault)
32 second row left frontal stage 2 deployment control (subfault)
Yes parts related seatbelt sensor and a collision sensor.
Two questions has this car been in a collision, did the airbags deployed, is the seatbelt not retracting. This is a serious problem if you have a collision there will be no protection
I have this problem if I jump in and start the car too quickly. It will shut off and the security light flashes. Thankfully it never happens when I'm on the road! I think it's related to the seatbelt switch. There's a wire under the driver seat connected to a sensor in the seatbelt buckle that tells the computer when the seatbelt is fastened. I tried spraying WD-40 into the seatbelt buckle to clean it, which helped, but it is still loose and intermittent. When it happens the remote won't do anything to get the car unlocked and started. I just have to wait ten minutes for the security system to reset itself.
fastening seat belts is not always the answer as some sensors need weight to cancel the light after the seatbelt is fastened. best have it checked out by an auto electrician as the seats may have been changed and the wiring not properly connected.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
1. Wait at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is
turned off and the negative (-) terminal cable is
disconnected from the battery before starting the
operation.
(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source, so
if work is started within 90 seconds of disconnecting
the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS
may be deployed).
2. Do not directly expose the steering pad, front
passenger airbag assembly, center airbag sensor
assembly, front airbag sensor, front seat inner belt
assembly, seat position sensor, occupant
classification ECU, front seat side airbag assembly,
side airbag sensor, curtain shield airbag assembly,
rear airbag sensor or front seat outer belt assembly to
hot air or flames.
