Check engine light went on, car runs fun drives great. When idling the rmps run from 500 to 1,000 up and down, up and down up and down and you can hear it too.
It eventually gets to the point where it idles below 500 and stalls. Starts right back up no problem. When driving car is fine, only bad on idle.
Thinking maybe o2 sensor?
Very common problem is about a dime size hole wearing in the rubber elbow on the PCV valve located on the driver side rear of the intake manifold.
I have this car and had the same problem. The codes on mine were P0171 and P0174 running lean on banks 1 & 2. The most common problem is what the first answer mentioned, a hole in the PCV elbow, or a dirty or inoperable MAF sensor. On my car it was the PCV elbow.
Replace the idle air controller. Plenty of videos around to show you how.
