Can you please tell me the spark plug gap for a 1996 Mazda Protege XL, 4 cyl?

QUITE EASY ,ALL CARS ARE NORMALLY 25TH ,some specify a wider gap but i set all plugs to 25th which is what i was taught at college 30+ years ago and never had a problem

plug gap is 0.044 in.

check the mas air flow sensor(is this the 6 cyl) the sensor has a problem with the nose piece inside not moving enough to tell the ecm the propper air flow for the cold start,also check throttle valve for dirt build up around it-if its a four cyl repost

If it's the four cyl., the first coil pack bolts over the #2 spark plug. The #2 coil pack wire plugs into #3 spark plug. The number two coil pack bolts directly over the number four spark plug, and the #2 coil pack wire plugs into the #4 plug. The firing order is 1-4-2-3.

try buying new points (yes there called points) gap them then install them, they go under the distributor cap, by the condenser, also, the sparkplug wires go in a certin order so if your not sure call an michanics shop and tell them what kind of car you have and they'll tell you what order they should go in. also did you gap the spark plugs??

Plug gap is 1.1 or "0.44"
