Interior Lights Flash On and Off By Themselves

The interior lights on my 2001 Chrysler Concorde flash on and off by themselves. It happens day or night, rain or shine, car running or parked. I pulled the fuse to keep it from draining the battery.

The interior lights are controlled by a module that gets its information from the sensors in the car door and the switch on the dash that is associated with the dash lights. There is an intermittent short in one of the doors or the module.

Sorry it has to be so vague, but there is not way to know where with out taking some things apart. An intermittent electrical short that can not be duplicated on demand is the hardest thing to diagnose. This is one that needs to go to someone who specializes in electrical diagnosis.

Hope this helps

Had the same problem with our 2001 Concorde. Our mechanic could not find any shorts or determine the cause. However, after pulling the fuse and replacing the battery on which the terminals were badly corroded and not holding a charge after 10 years, he put everything back together and reinserted the fuse. Problem fixed!?! Apparently the battery was not holding enough of a charge to properly maintain current for the computer module that runs the sensors and interior lights. Once "rebooted" and properly charged, the lights are working properly again and the battery is no longer being drained. I would try this first before spending a lot of money ... a special thanks to Ed & Jerry's garage in New Wilmington, PA for a job well done!

Pull one door sensor at a time and test. They get compressed too far and eventually no longer open the circuit. If you find a switch compressed too far, just replace it...

Door switches are self adjusting, to allow for differences in jamb tolerance... Start with driver's door.

My 2004 impala dashboard lights come on while driving it doesn't cut of but after I cut the car off headlights flash an clickin noise start what wrong with my car please help Loretta

Impala's are famous for ignition issues, are the interior lights of your dash coming on when you want them, or just by themselves? The clicking after you turn off, I would check the security system, i.e., remote clickers, cars computer, key chip, ect. Sound like your alarm is attempting to engage

Lincoln town car 2002 lights turn on themselves

on a 02 lincoln they are supost too , what i mean is they are called curtesey lights, you should not have to touch a light switch ever as this car has "daylght" headlamps, also interor lights all have a soft glow feature as they will gradually dim down but not go completly off till you move car forward aprox five feet

2001 chrysler 300 dash light for a/c, temp, heater doesn't light up

Hi I'm glad to help!

What we have found at the dealership is some of the A/C Control Heads the lights can be replaced. Call the Chrysler Dealership and give them your VIN and see if the bulbs are offered by themselves. If they are get a hand full of them and pull the control head and fix it yourself to save money. NOTE: If the bulbs are not offered by themselves then your have to but the control head or just leave it the way it is. Hope this helps and have an awesome day.

1999 chryler concord interior light stays on

Do you have a dimmer switch for interior lights and dash lights that is turned all the way on? You may also be able to turn them all the way off. My chrysler is a van and the dimmer switch is a wheel that rolls vertically.

The lights will go off sometime during the next four hours. This car does not have the automatic lights. One night they came on by themselves.

interior lights or exterior

most interior light concerns like yours are due to a door ajar switch issue

exterior lights could be something a little more serious

Just repaced the battery today, interior lights won't go off

Most likely a sticky door switch. Spray the heck out of all the switches and inside the doors themselves with WD-40. You may have to open and close the doors multiple times to get the lights to out.
