52 reg Polo 1.2 Unrecognized warning light

A warning light came on even though there is no problems with the car itself, its an empty circle with 3 dashes around each side and the manual doesnt say what it is. looks kinda like this :O: but with 3 bits on each side. any ideas?

It could be a brake pad warning light.have your brake pads checked to see if they are low.

Fuel gauge keeps going to empty and warning light

in side the tank on the side of the pump there is what thy call a sender not to be confused with the sending unit. The sender is atached to the float and tells the gauge how much fuel you have.

VW Polo GTI V Reg - Warning Light

Hi!  I believe that is the check engine light.  It means that there is some part of the engine that needs attention.  It can range from routine maintenance (a dirty filter for instance) to a serious problem.  You will have to take it to a dealer for them to diagnose the specific error using their diagnostic computer.
I'm not sure about the Polo but for several VW models the Check Engine Light goes on when the gas cap isn't on tight (there is a sensor that monitors tank pressure).  You may want to check that first.
