Does it hesitate when climbing a hill, too? Might be a fuel pump or fuel pump filter. Suspect these components when an engine stalls or hesitates when more gasoline is required.

there are many things that could cause that from bad gas to weak fuel pump or dirty inline filter or timing chain could be weak or dirty intake or bad catalitic converter or no converter or even a vaccum line off or cracked or even a bad EGR valve so you see theres alot of things that cause poor exceleration or idle. check first for restricted fuel filter or defective fuel pressure,try plugging the return line of the pressure regulator if it runs ok..replace the regulator but remember not to run the engine for a minute.its just the procedure of testing the regulator..ok?
