If the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced, the light needs to be reset at the time of repair.

If your mechanic does not have the equipment to reset the light, he can not accurately diagnose the light either and is likely just guessing.

Find a new mechanic, this guy smells like trouble.

What's wrong with my 1995 Toyota Avalon with Codes P0135 and P0773?

P0135 indicates that the heated oxygen sensor 1 on bank 1 is not functioning properly.

P0773
This is the torque converter lockup solenoid. Is the converter locking up? The solenoid can be accessed by removing the trans oil pan. Coil resistance is 10.16.9 ohm, check to see if the solenoid operates when 12DC is applied.

Can also be the wiring to the solenoid from ECU.

Above is the sensor itself on an 03 Avalon.

If the heater circuit has no activity check the relay located inside the engine room junction box JB shown below.

Check light on black smoke, fuel consumption, the scan read PO 171 please what is the problem.

Sounds like a faulty oxygen sensor, telling computer that engine is running lean, so it's dumping more & more fuel to try & correct it. Bank 1 oxygen sensor.

Had the same problem!

Your Computer won't reset. Now don't freak out their is a fix.....

Your computer is out, and needs to be replaced. their are three ways to resolve this. Buy a new computer (about $1200 plus aprox. $200 labor), find someone who can somehow get the computer to reset (??? this could cost about $600). Not a good choice.Their is another way, but it can't be posted. It is a total fix, but not even related to the problem. I know a mechanic for the company and.......
