Will a 1995 Ford Escort transmission fit a 1996 motor? I have a 1996 Ford Escort wagon with a bad tranmission and I want to replace it with one from a 1995 wagon. Is this possible? What will be the differences/problems, if any?

At the starter motor, two voltage circuits, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other voltage circuit goes hot with the key in the crank position and is wired through the neutral switch. The ground for the starter motor is through engine block, grounds are important.
how do you know this unless you have the transmission out or there is a massive internal failure --unless you are not using the right terminology for gear shaft
with a litle fabricating it will fit but your problem will be electronics you have an obd ll motor going into an obd system computers and emission equipment will need to be changed /upgraded and adapted to make it run and thats for engine and the transmission
The manual transmission in the Ford Escort uses transmission fluid, it is checked and filled in the same hole. That hole is where the speedometer cable is hooked up to the transmission. Remove the speedometer cable, set aside, then remove the locking bolt that holds the speedometer drive unit in place. Pull up on the drive unit and it will come out, look on the side of the drive unit and you will see the level indicator line for full and add. Fill as needed and reinstall the drive unit and cable. Hope this helps, let me know.
Is the engine running on all four cylinders, no missfire? If so, check the engine and transmission mounts, there are four, one at the top right hand side, one at the top of transmission on the left hand side, and one on front of transmission bell housing, and one in the rear transmission bell housing, any of them that are bad can cause this vibration. Hope this helps, let me know.
