Hi, the check engine lite came on,but all i found was all oil gone. any suggestions? the car runs fine, just had no oil, and no spot, so it slowy ran out or while i was driving lost oil. thankx..pj ps-it's a 2002 vw bug

Your car may be burning oil as you drive.add oil to fFULL line on dipstick,and check it every day to determine how much it's using.add 1 qt when level goes down to ADD

Try using high pressure air to blow out oil returns. The engine may have sludge build up due to foreign material sticking in oil drains from a 52 year old chevy. Love that engine. It was good in it's day! Good luck!
check to make sure that the plug wires are in the correct order if so check the wires to make sure that they are not fouling out if you didnt replace them with the tune up id suggest that you try that.
Hi Keith, my collegs are being right but now you have to change tappet cover gasket.That will stop the oil consumption.Change the spark plugs as well.Please.
Hi. This issue has several causes, but the oil light indicator is a strong sign of low pressure in the engine. This will cause the engine lubrication rate to drop, thus, producing a illuminated oil light, and erratic Oil pressure readings. The necessary actions are to have a manual oil pressure test ran on this engine, asap. When running a manual oil pressure test, you will discover if the true oil pressure is low, or normal. If the test proves that the oil pressure is, indeed, low, this will confirm that the Oil pump is suspect.
Now, if the true readings given during the manual oil pressure test are indicating that the pressure is normal, this will be the result of a failed sending unit(oil pressure switch).
usually comes on when you have to much/to little oil, or it needs to be changed, with the oil filter.. that should be the only reasons for it coming on.
