2001 S-10 with the 4.3 Vortec engine keeps dieing

My 2001 S-10 with the 4.3 Vortec engine Would not start yesterday, after parking on a hill while the gas gauge ''Low'' light was on. We put in a couple gallons of gas and tried to start it, but the battery had died from attmepting to start it before. Charged the battery, and it started up. Took it to the gas station filled her up, started her up again 2 times, let run for 30 min. Then 2 hours later went to start and it would only click. Put charger on and it would start but then die right away. If I press the gas as soon as it starts it dies too. Please help me keep the truck running.

Most likely the battery and possibly the alternator are bad.

Testing is how we find answers to problems like yours ! Fuel pressure testing would be a good first step . You don't say what engine is in your S-10 4.3 l vortec ? CPI - central port injection system ?

Vortec 4.3 v6 chevy starts after cranking on it runs for about 15 seconds like its running out of gas then dies ....checked filter ...can hear pump...tried cleaner in throttle body ....tried drop or two of...
Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge ? Vortec engines require 65+ psi to run.

My mitsubishi challenger keeps dying when i go up the hill or downhill. i've changed the fuel pump but the problem is the same. sometimes its difficult to start the engine..
Check the condition and/or operation of the following:

1) Spark plugs, coils and leads.
2) Air filter
3) Fuel filter.

1997 Carolla- engine dies when shift to reverse or drive, starts again when put in park. Is this a transmission problem or starter/ignition problem?
Might want to check for any codes first and then while vehicle is running, check for any vacuum leaks.

Hills don't make any difference with the fuel tank setup they have now days. If this is a continuois problem I would replace the fuel filter first and check your air filter( if it is dirty replace it) also have fuel pressure checked. The filters are the cheapest first steps to take. let me know
