When engine is restarted the clock in the instrument panel, goes back to 12:00. Alarm LED is not flashing. all of these problems started after a mechanic attended to a sun roof that was stuck open- the problem, he said was a failed motor.

Imobiliser problem

If im not mistaken, your car should have an alarm reset/override.Below the steering column,on the dash should be a slot where you put your remote transmitter to deactivate the alarm. If that works, you then need to have your remote checked and coded by a vw dealer.Good luck.
