1999 silverado 4.8 4wd when i first start off trans is slugish and there is no power no matter how much gas i give it but eventualy starts to work fine until i shut it off and let it sit for a while.
Change your transmission filter and fluid. what is happening is there is a restriction in flow. Once the fluid warms up, it flows through the restriction more easily as the fluid is thinner

Best Manuals I honestly suggest you to not waste money on repairs. They're never satisfying and mechanics don't keep you in the loop very much. Try manuals and doing it yourself, you'll know better, and can also judge better.
the brake pads have sensor , it will indicate before the brake pads totaly finish . sometime the cable disconnect it indicate need to replace brake pads so,make sure the brake pads need to replace . for the transmission . first make sure your engine can reach 4000 RPM when trans. N or P if can not you have problem with engine lack of power the trans. will not shifting properly . you can check the ATF condition ( if burn , black coler ,) also you can
it may be a bad tps ( throttle position sensor ). it causes transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cut off, surge while crusing down highway. if this does not solve problem, it may be a sticking valve body in transmission. have a good day !! for an automatic tranny.
Dirty trans filter, stickey trans solinoid,or your torque converter is not unlocking. If you can due it yourself try running some trans flush then replace the filter.
Theres a few actually in the the bottom of the trans.the most common problem with these trans and assuming its 4l60E is the pressure regulator switch. You have to take off the trans pan to get to it and its not that exspensive of a fix.You can do it your self in about 45min
what it means is it is slipping. now the first thing you can do is drop the oil out of it and change the filter. add lucas trans additive and go for a couple of days if the problem goes away as often times it does it's because the valve body inside the trans is gummed up, and the lucas removes this. if the problem persists it could be either a defective engine speed sensor or a faulty trans control module. i would take it to a shop and have them hook a scan tool to it. it will show which one is the fault. please rate this.
