1999 dodge durango slt stalls but restarts (no bus)code shows on the odometer.the truck feels almost like it is running out of gas right before it stalls. could this be water in the gas?

Hey Gord,
Try disconnecting your CPU for about 3 to five minutes, this will reset your CPU. Then see if it starts. Note. there is probably a faulty microswitch somewhere causing your CPU to overheat and cut everthing off (No BuS). Try keeping it cold with a zip-lock bag of ice (keep your CPU dry). Your Durango should work as long as you keep the CPU is cold.

Let's get The terminology right to start out with. If the engine turns it cranks so you have a crank no start. Am I correct? Make sure you have spark. If no spark check your crank sensor located in the bell housing (transmission). Make sure you got fuel injector pulse, fuel pressure.

Check for a faulty crank sensor. Sounds strange, but we found this out the hard way in the dealerships,many years ago. Following the trouble tree usually lead to pcm replacement, and it still wouldn't run.

could be the idle air control valve, vacuum leak or a bad throttle position sensor.

try unplugging the crank sensor that is located in the bell housing of the transmission,on top of the bell housing,when these go bad they pull everything to ground including the bus communication,if you unplug it and the message goes away,replace the sensor,hope this helps

The connector on the ECU is faulty,The ECU is located on the passenger fender well under the hood,You can try to unplug,Clean and plug back in to see if that helps.

It is your computer. I had this recently as well. No Bus means no connection to the on board computer. There is a company in Florida that repairs these computers, so don't get suckered in by the dealership for 750-1000.

sounds like faulty body control module or bad connection to it
