This started happening to my car right after I removed my battery cables from the battery terminals for cleaning. I installed them back on and a couple of days later when I started my car, the climate control display started to flash (outside temperature reading). Once the display stopped flashing and the car was warmed up, I depressed the Auto button to check for heat, but all I got was cold are blowing from the defroster vents and nothing from the floor. Before I disconnected my cables my heat worked just fine and now Im ready to cry!
I did the exact thing with my '98 buick LeSabere. I am certain that the dealer would have to look at the components and relays and fuses. I had problems with Precision tune mechanics telling me there is nothing wrong with the electrical system, even though I still get a Flashing temp gauge and do not get FULL heat even when it's blasted to 90ºf . [Precision Tune got heat on the windshield and floor.] Moreover, the car is possessed with glitches; I am not getting heat on the windshield and the floor is not hot enough to warm the cabin.
If you get car climate system scanned for codes - the problem could be located - only problem i've had was in the radio security when swapping batteries or taking cables loose for other reason - alt. or cleaning- i repaired my a/c compressor and then the driver heater door stuck wide open when i cycled temp up and down on '98 buick ultra
Testimonial: "The PCM module has to be re-calibrated and probe tested. Dealers will have the expenive GM scan tools - not auto parts stores like AutoZone."
I've experienced the same problem. Have you found the issue? If so how did you fix the problem?
