There's two fuel pumps, primary in the gas tank and a secondary pump under the car. Try using a jumper wire where the fuel pump relay plugs into to see if the relay is bad. Clean and adjust the airflow plate. Check for rust at the fuel distributor. And check for leaks in the plastic fuel lines from the fuel distributor to the injectors (wrap some paper towels around them and turn the key on to prime the system). Clean the terminals on the fuse panel and wiring harness junction blocks. Look here for more help http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/900/

on a 83 its a external fuel pump, mounted in front of the fuel filter right in front of the drivers side rear tire, sounds like a bad pump or a bad relay or also could be the oil pressure switch that tells the fuel pump to kick in

97 saab 900 s 2.3l non turbo automatic has became hard to start, starter sounds great and at full power, batery new alternator great, what is the problem? It takes 3-9 times before it will start. Sometimes...

Since it does eventually start and run, hard starting is usually a fuel delivery problem (pressure regulator, fuel filter, fuel pump, kinked fuel line). First check the fuel pressure after turning the key on but not starting the car.

Sputters then dies

Most likely a lack of fuel, check the fuel filter first.

I have no power to my fuel injectors on 88 saab 900 turbo

There should always be power at the injectors as long as the fuel pump is on. The fuel injection ECU provides a ground to the injectors to turn them on.
You most likely have a bad fuel injection ECU. This is a very common failure on 88,89 and 90 SAABs.
