1995 Explorer Automatic 4wd. Why doesn't it go into any gear?

When driving above 30 mph and let off the gas, it would make a loud whirring noise (kinda like a high powered drill) until it got BELOW 30mph. Then it would clunk and jerk after that would happen and it would lose reverse sometimes (loud grinding) clunking got worse over a weeks time and then sounded like I broke some gears while driving and truck wouldn't move. Now it won't go into any gear whatsoever.

SOURCE: 2010 ford focus automatic trsnsmission makes rubbing noise when accelerating from acomplete stop . noise continues until 2nd gear engages. from then on all is fine. reverse sometimes doesnt engage, ma

A carrier bearing usually pertains to the differential assembly and would not cause the symptom you describe. There is a problem with this transmission that causes it to not drop completely to first gear after a period of driving. Ford is aware of it but I do not believe they have initiated a recall. Call your Ford dealer(s) to see if you can find an honest man. Ask for the service manager.

Cold weather squeal

Check your belts and pulleys. Belts should not be cracked and pulleys should turn freely with no noise.

95 millenia, LOUD buzzing noise from under dashboard at speeds above 40 mph. Gets louder as you go faster, HELP!\

This car has an electronic speedometer so no the cable would not be the problem since it doesn't have one. I would have a shop tech listen to the noise and give you his opinion.

Noise coming from the rear end of my 2004 honda pilot it really only occurs during cold weather and after it warms up you hear it slightly

When does the noise occur, while driving only, or driving and idle, in gear, or in neutral and park? If it occurs all the time (while driving and at a stand still in cold weather) it could be the fuel pump. If it occurs only while driving, it may be a wheel bearing. Describe the noise (humming, grinding, whirring, etc), and what is the mileage on the Pilot? Answer my questions so I can fine tune my answer. Thanks!

My 97 4wd explorer shakes and makes a clunking noise when I get above 50 mph I've replaced both front wheel bearings and did fine for about a month then started shaking and grabing on the driver side only....

It is usually the CV joints in the drive shaft(s) that are worn, and make this noise.
I would look at your CV joint boots, are they dirty and full of grease on the outside. Does the inner wheel well have grease slung onto it ?
Replacing the drive shaft is a difficult repair. I would have a reliable auto repair center give an estimate.
Please let me know what you find.

2006 elantra whirring noise while driving

if you are sure its right rear of car, jack up car so the right rear is off the gound, grasp the spring with you hand, and with your other hand, spin the wheel, if you feel any roughness , your wheel bearing is bad and will need replacement.
