2011 Dodge GRAND CARAVAN ALTERNATOR SHORTED AND CAUSED NO START NOT STARTER CLICK REPLACED ALTERNATOR STILL NO START. HARD REBOOT NO START THE LITTLE RED LITE FOR THEFT IMMOBILIZER ON PLEASE HELP @
First charge then check the battery, if the starter doesn't turn locate the starter relay in the under hood fuse block remove the relay and use a small piece of wire jumper #30 to #87 and the starter should turn. If not check fuse F-13 or F-16 it will be a 40 amp fuse. If it still doesn't crank or just clicks you have a bad battery cable going to the starter or the starter. This test bypasses the security systems and the computer. I hope this helps. Take care. Use comment to ask questions and it will show in my email. I will answer within the hour.

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY, JACK UP AND SUPPORT YOUR CARAVAN. LYING ON YOUR BACK LOCATE THE STARTER WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE THROUGH THE BELL HOUSING .THERE ARE TWO 15 MILIMETER BOLTS THAT HOLDS THE STARTER ON . AFTER BREAKING THE BOLTS A 15MM WRENCH WOULD BE USEFUL.

1st the system alarm is intagrated into the engine control electronics, it can not be disabled without poss damage to ther systems and controls, 2nd the most common cause of your issue is the sensor in the ignition lock cylinder being defective, this is the most common issue on all GM anti-theft systems.

Disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Remove the windshield wiper module for 3.0 L and smaller engines or the right front lower splash shield for engines larger than 3.0 L. Remove the accessory beltdrive with a socket wrench. You will also need to remove the lower bolt and wiring harness from the oil dipstick tube with a socket wrench if you have an engine larger than 3.0 L.
Take the mounting bolts off of the alternator with a socket wrench and disconnect the alternator's electrical harness. This will allow you to remove the alternator assembly.
Install the new alternator assembly and connect the electrical harness. Tighten the mounting bolts to 40 foot pounds with a torque wrench and install the accessory drive belt. You will also need to install the lower bolt and wiring harness from the oil dipstick tube with a socket wrench if your engine is larger than 3.0 L.
Connect the windshield wiper module or right front lower splash shield as required. Connect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench.
Good luck and hope this helps.
I have heard the easiest way to remove the alternator is to remove the exhaust manifold. It will cost about $15.00 or so for a new manifold gasket but it is supposed to create enough room to be able to swap it without the hassle of removing alot of parts.

with most front wheel drives you must remove the passenger tire and reach through to the starter bolt with an extension and if I remember write with a 15 mm socket you can reach through and take out the bolt
SOURCE: Replacing side mirror on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
