The cause of valve to burned are worn valve seat,worn valves,overheated engine, Its mainly the exhaust valves that burn due to worn valve seats

Time for a good check up, the black smoke is a good indication of a faulty fuel pump or fuel calibration/setting.
I would advice that it needs a good tuning up of the fuel and timing , or even decarbonising of the head/ exhaust.
the tapping noise can be the tappets. the clearance being high, which will be adjusted in the tuning.

the valves clearnces are: Inlet- 0.20 cold & Exaust- 0.25 cold.

If your going to do do that much work , I would invest in a Chilton's or Haynes manual

Sounds like you need to get your valve/rocker clearances reset as the toyotas valves tend to sink into the seats and it reduces the clearance so the valves are opening and closing too soon.Not sure if youve checked that your H/T leads arnt tracking out and in good condition.Good luck and let me know how it goes
