SOURCE: green indicator light on 1998 kia sportage
That light sounds like a differential lock or 4-wheel drive. This is usually found in 4-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles. Being the light is "GREEN" and not amber or red tells me that it's not an abnormal problem.
Look around your dashboard or gearshifter for a button labeled 4x4 HI, 4x4 LO, 4x2 HI. sport/off road button, or a second, smaller shifter. Switch them around a little, and if it is a 4x4 selector, be sure when you drive on paved roads to have it set to 4x2 HI. 4x4 HI should only be used if you get stuck to help you get out (snow/mud) and 4x4 LO is only for off road driving (trail blazing/rock climbing/4-wheeling/mud bogging, etc.)
Also, check for any switches labled "DIFF LOCK" or 'AXLE LOCK". In most cars a green light is normal operations.
I hope I could help you find a solution to your problem.
SOURCE: the Abs light came on and will not go out after i
This is just a consequential event. the ABS sensor module was probably going out and decide the trigger the alarm at the same time you initiated the hard brake during travel. replacing or resetting this sensor module Will fix this issue. the light will go off as well.
Please rate and god bless.

The park brake is the same on all vehicles. Usually on the driver side when you follow the cable, there will be an adjuster in the middle of the line. Turn to the right to tighten and left to loosten.
SOURCE: had front brakes changed on my 2005 kia sportage
Depending on how much brake work was done, either the wheel sensors have been damaged or were not properly reconnected.
The regular brake warning light may be on because the ABS is disabled at the moment.
Fixing the ABS problem may extinguish the standard warning light too.
I suspect the brakes are working but not as an ABS-equipped system.
If you have one of the auto parts chain stores near you, take it to them for a free scan of yoru computer; the error code it finds may be more specific that the ABS warning light.
