SOURCE: coolant light 2004 saturn ion 4 cylinder

I had the same problem. My 2004 Ion had 85000 miles on it. It was a bad sensor. The whole coolant reservoir tank needs to be replaced to fix the problem. This was covered under the extended warranty that we had. If you are doing this repair yourself, a hose clamp tool is recommended for simplicity.

SOURCE: White smoke from Exhaust

hardly likely the exhaust job would cause that, but yes it sounds like you got a blown head gasket. badl lock stricks hmm! also preasure test cylinder head for leaks

SOURCE: hi, what does it mean when huge amounts of white

Symptom: White smoke or water vapor from the exhaust. You notice white smoke coming from the exhaust when you start your car. If it is cold out, this may be normal. If the smoke does not disappear after the car is warmed, you have a problem. Possible causes:

  1. Transmission fluid may be entering the intake manifold through vacuum modulator.
    The Fix: Replace vacuum modulator
  2. Cylinder head gasket(s) may be bad.
The Fix: Replace cylinder head gasket(s).
  3. Cylinder head(s) may be warped or cracked.
The Fix: Resurface or replace cylinder heads. (Resurfacing is not a DIY job)
  4. The engine block may be cracked.
    The Fix: Replace engine block.

If you are getting a lot of white smoke it would indicate antifreeze is getting into the cylinders. Overheating would indicate that you may have a thermostat problem, check your radiator for fluid level and how the fluid looks. If the car has been severely overheated them likely the head gaskets are bad.

Radiator fluid disappers with out a leak

Half a gallon a week? Bad for the car, bad for the pocketbook.
Have a shop do a pressure test of your coolant system to check for leaks. You might also want a block test where they check for exhaust gases getting into the coolant system-maybe your coolant is getting into a cylinder and burning off. How does the car run? any white smoke out the exhaust? Or signs of overheating?
That's kind of a worst-case scenario (head gasket problem, or cylinder head problem), but that's an awful lot of coolant loss, and it's got to be going somewhere.
Good luck.

I Have lots of white smoke coming out of my exhaust

White smoke indicates that a possible leak of antifreeze through the head gasket exists, or a cracked block or head. Usually, it's just a head gasket.

Good luck on this repair.

Usually a little smoke in the morning is OK. Something you need to watch is the antifreeze/coolant in the radiator and or resevoir. if it constantly is getting low, you may have a blown head gasket.
This would account for the longer starts.

Heater blowing cold air

If there is a internal antifreeze leak, there will be antifreeze mixed in your oil. Check your oil. If there is antifreeze in there, you probably have a bad head or base gasket. Worst case scenario is your block is cracked somewhere. Check your heater core and the lines as well. If the heater core is bad it will be leaking.
Check the thermostat housing for a leak. Sometimes
the antifreeze will leak from there, and burn on top of the exhaust instead of dripping onto the ground. Good luck
