Check engine coolant level. Make sure no coolant in engine oil (crankcase).

Add coolant if low. Check immediately and a few minutes later... if coolant low again identify leak or check oil level. Dont run engine if coolant in oil.

SOURCE: 2000 dodge dakota quad cab turn signal problems, but flashers work. started out the turn signals would flash several times then quit. now i have nothing.

Either a multifunction switch, or a body control module problem. Possibly the flasher itself.

SOURCE: 2001 dodge dakota engine cooling system

Normally you only need to check the level in the tank under the "engine coolant only" cap, but if you had a leak and lost coolant, check that the level of coolant under the "never open when hot" cap (it should be the radiator cap) is full - up to the brim. if not, fill it to overflowing, then cap it, fill the tank to its level, start the truck, let it reach operating temperature, let it cool down again, check the level in the radiator. if it's still fine, you need not worry about it again, just check the level in the tank daily.

There is gas in the water and oil in the water

Im sorry to say this but your head gasket has failed. Have a reputable mechanic look at it. Cross contamination of fluids is a tell-tale sign of a blown head gasket. Good luck
