may be you should
make a diagnostic and you can do it in a garage or you can do it by yourself
if you want to do it by yourself you need
some tools
and you can find some good ones here: spobd2.com
make sure the axle joint didn't fail then on the pass side of the car behind the axle there is a cover that houses the differential open that and check the gears in there
rebuilding the transmission will not correct an axle seal problem, thats a waste off money, have no idea where you got your previous seals but you need to get the seal at NAPA this time, and replace the left side cv shaft "This is the only thing that would ruin a seal" because of wear or burrs on the part that the seal rides on.And have another shop do the job, just in case the mechanic or who ever is putting them in,is ruining the seal by mis installation.
Probably the best thing is a Glass shop. It sounds like a part called a window regulator is broke. Hopefully the cracking sound is just the plastic of the regulator and not electricity arcing.
In trying to do this yourself, the window has to be up and braced. Your Cadillac is a big car with big windows. Parts are a little heavier and harder to control.
You can call around for the price, tell them you "WANT TO KNOW THE COST OF REPLACING A WINDOW REGULATOR FOR YOUR CADILLAC DHS."
