This may seem an odd suggestion but have you checked the hazard light switch on the dash and it's relay in the fuse box. Hazard lights are designed to work with or without the ignition key so you can lock and walk away from it when it breaks down.

SOURCE: CENTRAL LOCKING

Check your remote batteries.Listen for any sounds coming from the passenger door lock when operating the drivers door switch. The lock could be faulty.Have a diagnostic check done at a dealer to tell you whats wrong , this is normally free , before stripping anything..

SOURCE: 1996 4.0 Range Rover won't unlock

This car is in super lock mode... when you press remote 2times to lock or when you lock with remote and try to unlock using key manually.

there is a 4 digit number to open the door, its like opening a safe, starting from the left(key in car door) it goes L/R/L/R. so if number code is 1234..... left 1, right 2, left 3, right 4.

or if this too troublesome you can ask landrover dealer to remove the KEYCODE.

happy trying.....

SOURCE: warning lights

My 2002 Disco was doing the same problem, I checked the battery terms. and realized they were loose so when i was driving down the road and hit even the slightest bump all my warning lights came on. i changed out the terminals and made sure they were tight and have not had any problem since. I hope this helps Tracy in Vegas

SOURCE: My P38 Range Rover wont start

Hi Adam,

Bring your vehicle to an auto parts or battery store. Ask if they could perform a 'Load Check' on your battery. This not only checks the voltage, but also the amps, as if it were under the load of turning your engine.

It takes a few seconds and the results are pass or fail. Fail means it's time for a new battery. Pass means we need to look elsewhere.

Comment back the results.

Hope you find this to be very helpful

SOURCE: how do i turn off the brake warning light on range rover 2004

You can reset this fault code using the buttons on your dash - you don't need a dealer to do this. As you already know, you need to replace your pads and the brake wear sensor - this is a sacrifical item. Once this is done, do the following:-
Using the buttons on your dash - there are 2 - one on the LHS (Trip reset) and one on the RHS (In between Tacho and temp gauge)

*Press and hold Right button and turn ignition to first position (I or Accessory)Display should show "Check Control OK" then a short time later "Test Nr.01"*Press the Left button and you should see the car info in the display. Add the last FIVE digits of the car identity number together (NOT all 6!) to get a unique ID for your car.*Press the Right button repeatedly until you see "Test Nr.19"*Press and hold the Left button until you see the number matching the unique ID you calculated, then release.*Press the Right button to select this.*Press the Left button repeatedly until you see "Test Nr.21" - Reset All Defect Codes*Press Right button to reset the codes.Done!

2008 range rover sport v8td has a rubbing or knocking from rear end on slow pull away.

If it were the prop, you have vibration at high speeds/out of balance. Look at the back of both wheels. If one has oil around where the rearend meets the backing plate, bad axle bearings.

Should be a very small screw holding the fob together. I would find a Land Rover forum like this one and ask the question. Doing a search on the forum you will likely find an answer. And a lot of invaluable information even many dealers will not know.

Key alarm code

I'm haveing a problem with my 2006 RR Sport car alarm. I can lock the door with the remote, but my alarm keeps going off. It stops but continues to go off during the day. The only message that I have received in the recent month is that my "Bonnett was open". Found out my Bonnett is the hood. Made sure the hood was closed tight and I have not received the message. But the alarm keeps going off.
