If the starter is reachable the main battery terminal of the starter can be bridged to the small solenoid terminal with a screwdriver or similar or use a light jumper lead from the battery to the solenoid terminal - the regular remote starter uses this principle but includes a switch for convenience.

SOURCE: Need fuse panel diagram for 2002 BMW 325xi

fuse%20panel%20diagram%20for%202002%20bmw%20325xi.jpg7a5780c.jpg
This is what I could find. It doesn't have a steering whee radiol control fuse but has 2 fuses for the radio. It seems to be the same panel across the board for BMW's. 4x4's, diesels, gas, 6 and 8 cylinders, etc. Hope it helps.

SOURCE: changing headlamps on 2003 bmw 325xi

I am assuming that you have a burned out head light bulb.
1) Open hood.
2) Working in back of headlight assembly, grasp rear of bulb socket (harness connector) and turn counterclockwise 90 degrees. Pull bulb out of headlight assembly.
3) Disconnect harness connector from bulb (gently pry, it's plastic)
4) Installation is reverse of removal. (Do not touch halogen bulb with bare skin-oils from hand will cause bulb to burn out.) Align tabs on bulb base to cutouts on rear of lens assembly. (Note bottom tab is wider than other two) Secure bulb by rotating clockwise 90 degrees.
Low beam bulb H9006
High beam bulb H9005

SOURCE: BMW 325xi; 160k; check engine light on-->next day, wont start!

The check engine light is a warning to let you know something needs your attention to be repaired I would try getting a jump. Could be a bad battery. Lets get the battery charged and tested. Cold weather will stop your car from starting if you have a weak battery. You dont need to tow the car just take the battery to Autozone or Walmart to be charged and tested for cca...cold cranking amps

SOURCE: my 2002 bmw 325xi fuel filter location?

It is on the drivers side on the chassis.

yes you can change it yourself. Make sure you de-pressurize the system before removing (undo the gas cap).

Also...order the filter from bavarian auto or one of the online stores. The one you need is with the pressure regulator.

If you go to autozone, etc. they will sell you the worng filter.

SOURCE: My 2002 bmw 325i wont

the electrical starter/nuetral saftey switch mounted on the tramsmission near the shift cable is at fault. If the starter can be hot wired to work that mean this switch is faulty if no power runs to the solenoid to start

325xi - car will not start. Makes a clicking sound when I put the key in not sure if starter or not enough battery power. I tried to jump start it but it still did not turn on.

Try taking the battery out of the car and putting it on a battery charger for about an hour then put it back in to see what happens sometimes a jump isnt good enough especially is the battery is really drained. I mean you can jump it but it would take a while a better way is to put a good charge on the battery and then try it if it still clicks then it may be the starter but I would certainly try the battery first.

2002 dodge durango....strong battery...no corrosion....I turn the key and get one click and that is it. Is it the starter itself?

maybe. Try jumping the car. If it jumps ok, make sure battery terminals are tight.
If it doesn't jump, either the starter or solenoid is bad.
Often times, you cannot buy a solenoid separate from the starter anyway, so you may just want to buy both and avoid additional troubleshooting steps.
If you want to troubleshoot further, try smacking the starter with a hammer and then try starting. If that works, the starter is bad and the solenoid is good.
If that doesn't work, you can try jumping the hot terminal on the solenoid to the start terminal to verify the solenoid is clicking. For details on doing that, please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over .
If the solenoid is clicking, the starter is bad.

If you have more questions, please let me know.

I have a 2002 bmw 325xi. i go to start it and all the lights and radio come on but it doesnt start. I just hear a clicking sound? 1st time it happened dont know what the problem is.

The clicking sound you hear is the solonoid on the starter trying to engage your starter into the ring gear,in my opinion i would say that the starter is jammed (needs replaced) but be sure to get the battery checked first as a low battery voltage will result in a poor crank effort aswell,Hope this helps!

2002 BMW 325xi, doesn't start after oil change

It sounds like just a coincidence. I dont know what a GRR noise is supposed to mean. It either Cranks, No Crank, or it Cranks but does not Run. Just tow it to a qualified shop and find out what the problem is.

BMW 325xi; 160k; check engine light on-->next day, wont start!

I would try to jump it to see if the starter engages and the engine runs, if it does you have a connection problem between the engine starter and the battery, if it does the same thing with cables then you will probably have to tow it in to the shop. I do not think your problem is related to cold weather, but it could very well be related to the check engine light. Exactly what the check engine light is on for I can not say with out a code, but I agree with your thinking about taking it to the shop. Hope this helps, let me know.

No crank

shorting to start motor will allow the motor to turn but the ignition system is still off.
try with key turned to ignition position.
suspect starter solenoid on starter motor.
suspect fuses maybe there is a fuse which has blown.
suspect ignition key switch maybe defective.

2003 BMW 325xi won't start, dashboard and radio go on.

My 2003 325xi died on the highway a few weeks ago, and I thought it was the battery. It turned out to be the alternator, which was an expensive problem to repair. If your battery is new, it could be the alternator, or a problem with the electrical system. I find the BMWs to be too complicated electrically, which often leads to problems! I'd check your alternator...
