The van runs than dies

When it stalls out did you check the spark? I suspect the engine is losing spark due to an ignition system failure.

I had a van that had that same problem where it would just shut off then after 20 min or do would start..then do it again at times until just quit..turned out the fuel pump was going bad then failed..replaced it solved the problem..good luck..

Engine stall or RPM fluctuates at idle.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

you may not have the fuel lines sealed, they can **** in air without leaking fuel, especially in the tank, whre the pump connects

Check on frame rail on drivers side, near front of gas tank.

It is possible that this is a coil problem, once the van has ran and shut off on its own you need to check it for spark. This could get you shocked, so I recomend you take it to a mechanic if your not comfortable! If its not getting spark it could be coil packs, ignition module (usually wont start at all) or even a bad crank or cam sensor.
