Usually a bad switch or connection inside the column.

Do you use a car charger for your cell phone? Some from Verizon do this ALL THE TIME. Buy aftermarket charger.

Yes, it will fit.Years that fit are 89 to 94.Appearance may be different it steering wheel between a chev or gmc,but wiring should be a exact fit.Other differences in columns are column shift(auto)w/tilt or w/out tilt wheel or floor shift(standard)w/tilt or w/out.

1996 Chevy Silverado front blinkers and hazards work but not the back. Why?

fuse blow to rear. (got old trailer hitch jack hacks?) <<???
wired up up by Larry the cable guy, ? we look act aft for wiring hacks. sure do rear.
1999 is first USA Silverado or is this car outside USA> not told
In usa it is Chevrolet C/K trucks
my wild guess is it a C1500 at
as told here,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Silverado

read it and see how using wrong names gets wrong answers everytime.

C1500 1996
TURNS rear dead. (both)
I think the wires to the rear are cut. (or both lamps out happens)
or plugs on rear, loose or rusty or damaged.
USE a tool called a voltmeter to find the point of failure.
front to rear , turn switch to the rear. 12vdc is good , blow that not so good. for sure 0v. means dead. or say below 10vdc at any time
blinker turns go,0v, 12v,0v,12v repeats same front and rear.

I have a 1990 chevy cheyenne c2500. my brake lights, parking lights and blinkers arent working and when i try to replace the fuse,it blows immediatly. what could the problem be?

What is the amp rating on the fuse that keeps blowing? I looked at wiring for stop lamps, 15 amp fuse. Unplug connector for stop lamp switch, see if the fuse still blows? Also see if anything at connector looks burned or melted.

You could have problem with fuse box, itself. Look at back side of fuse box, see if anything looks burned or melted.

I changed my dist. cap on 1990 chevy p/u took one

Is the coil connected to the ditributor? did you knock any connections off in the process? Does it turn over but not fire? do you have spark at the plugs? Are you sure of cylinder location in respect to firing order? Did you-and check this first as with any elec. problems-blow a fuse in the ignition circuit? good luck!

Left turn signal flashes fast

Sounds like a bad turn signal relay. located under dash on drivers side in fuse panel. If this does not fix the problem then you will have a loose or bad ground in the blinker system. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Blown fuse in turn signal and hazards

Sounds like you have a Direct Short inside the Sterring Column. If you Tilt the Wheel you should get almost the Same Result. Not an easy fix, You will have to Pull the Steering wheel and Replace the Turn Signal Unit.
