The front passenger power window is stuck in 2008 Saturn Outlook. What might be the cause?

Hi,

Initially, try to determine which fuse goes to the power window. Check and replace if necessary.

In brief for a temporary remedy just to have the window closed: remove the triangular cover at the top front of the door behind the mirror, there should be a screw there; remove the trim around the door handle another screw, remove the cover of the courtesy light at the bottom of the door, there is another screw behind that; soon as all the screws are out, lift/push up on the door panel and pull off. This would grant you access to the mechanism controlling the window. You can try closing by manually turning the motor.

Thereafter, pls determine if it is the motor or the switch(es) has failed. Replacements are available here.

you may want to check to see if their is to much fluid in it,its along shoot but it does happen,see to much causes foaming of the fluid and it cant do its job.have u noted all engine conditions and any other condition when it acts up?good luck.

you must remove the front bumper cover in order to remove the headlamp in order to get to the bulb,,,,its a big pain in the arse,,sorry but there is no easy way,,,take it to the dealer,its not worth your hassle,,

Volcompunker is on track.... if it is a stuck motor problem, before taking door apart, try this...it may work, works well on dodge caravans...

NO COST and fast PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.

7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

We had the same proble with our 08 Outlook. It kept saying "Service Airbag". When I took it in they said the airbag module connector was faulty and I had to ge it replaced for $245. I just received something in the mail from Saturn that said there is a recall and I may be able to get a refund. Good luck!
