SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Magnum w/out hemi stalling

I have a 2005 Magnum and was also having this problem. Stalled out a few times and continued to idle rough and feel like it was going to die when I would slow down. At times it would feel like I would get a hesitation and then a surge. Engine light would go on for a day or so, then go out for a few days. First time I took it in, the dealership told me that it was a broken seal (I don't know where), but they replaced it and it continued to happen. The second time I took it to a mom & pop shop, and they told me that it was the oxygen sensor/altimeter, replaced it (only a $35 part), and I haven't had a problem since. That was 6 months ago. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Magnum, after replacing battery,cd player won't work

My story Dealing with Dodge

I had a 1994 Dodge Ram. The Red Dodge Ram I had it malfunctioned and my brake became the throttle. I had to put the truck in reverse then park. to stop, after it was out of control at 80 mph a hill slowed us down. Are you sure its not electrical and the curse control is not giving you trouble? Mine had multifunction switch was not working and the headlight switch burned up. I also found out that Audi had problem with the brake becoming the throttle in the 1980s Daimler Chrysler and Audi were German made. I don't think there is an easy answer. I hope you stay safe. Another man is having strange trouble also. I'm sure there are many more people with trouble with the vehicles. I wish Dodge would step up to the truth. and recall their nightmares. I saw many of their 1996 Dodge trucks at their dealers shop with all the electrical pulled out.

SOURCE: 2005 dodge durango key fob

Hello and thank you for choosing fixya.com. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a local auto parts store and request to have a diagnosis done. (while auto stores vary, this is usually a free service and only takes a couple minutes to complete) to see if any codes are brought up. If so, the representative can tell you what the codes mean, and what needs replaced or repaired. Let them know of the situation. Even if no codes show up, ask them to clear the codes. If this does not work, do the following. 1: make sure that the batter in your key fob is inserted correctly, and that it is the correct size and type. 2. Disconnect the + Positive cable on your battery. This will reset your the vehicles computer. Maybe this will allow the vechile to code up with the fob. If not, I would take it to dealership, or backto an auto part store for further assitance.

I thank greatly for choosing fixya.com. I hope this information is useful to you and helps you get your fob working again. Let me know if you need further assistance, or have any questions or comments. Feel free to rate this information at your earliest convenience.

Pulling fuse's an disconnecting battery's isn't the way to fix this . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. The BCM - body control module controls the power lock's . Hooking up a factory or professional scanner looking at data pid's -parameters is , codes etc... . What 20 amp fuse ? My service info. shows 40 amp fuse #19 , I see a 20 amp fuse # 14 - this powers the anti-theft module (SKREEM) sentry key remote entry module.

Is a dealership the only place where my wireless control module be programmed. my vehicle is a 2009 jeep patriot

depending on your are there can be loads of places search web search for jeep 2009 re programming. is it that you have replaced the wireless control or its just not working ?
A no crank or no start condition may develop due to electronic lockup of the wireless control module (WCM), also referred to as the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM). When this module fails the remote keyless entry system will also not operate. The WCM is commonly replaced to correct this concern.

Where is the theft sysem located at on a 2005 Dodge Durango and how can I get to it

What's the problem your having NICK ? The theft system is incorporated in everything , engine computer , body control module ! There is a anti-theft control module , a transponder chip in the head of you ignition key !
The Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS) is available as a factory-installed option on this vehicle. Vehicles equipped with this option can be readily identified by the illumination of the security indicator in the instrument cluster for about three seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the ON position as a SKIS bulb test.
The SKIS includes the following major components, which are described in further detail elsewhere in this service information:
  • Powertrain Control Module (1)- The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located in the engine compartment and provides the SKIS engine control logic. ( Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE - DESCRIPTION ).
  • Security Indicator- A security indicator is integral to the ElectroMechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC) (also known as the Cab Compartment Node/CCN). ( Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/SECURITY INDICATOR - DESCRIPTION ).
  • Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (2)- The Sentry Key REmote Entry Module (SKREEM) (also known as the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module/SKIM or the Wireless Control Module/WCM) is located on the right side of the steering column near the ignition lock cylinder housing and an integral molded plastic antenna ring circles the ignition lock cylinder like a halo. The SKREEM and its antenna are concealed beneath the steering column shrouds. Two SKREEM modules are available: one for vehicles equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) only, and one for vehicles equipped with RKE and SKIS.
  • Sentry Key Transponder (3)- The Sentry Key transponder is contained within the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter on the ignition key.
  • If you do not know about this , do not mess with it , take it to professional. Save your self money an aggravation !

I un connected the battery to my dodge charger 06 and then reconnected it now it will not start what could be wrong with it

CUSTOMER LEARN METHOD
The Customer Learn feature is only available on domestic vehicles, or those vehicles which have a U.S. country code designator. This programming method also requires access to at least two valid Sentry Keys. If two valid Sentry Keys are not available, or if the vehicle does not have a U.S. country code designator, the Secured Access Method MUST be used to program new or additional valid keys to the SKREEM/WCM. The Customer Learn programming method procedures are as follows:
  1. Obtain the blank Sentry Key(s) that are to be programmed as valid keys for the vehicle. Cut the blank key(s) to match the ignition switch lock cylinder mechanical key codes.
  2. Insert one of the two valid Sentry Keys into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch to the On position.
  3. After the ignition switch has been in the On position for longer than three seconds , but no more than fifteen seconds , cycle the ignition switch back to the Off position. Replace the first valid Sentry Key in the ignition switch lock cylinder with the second valid Sentry Key and turn the ignition switch back to the On position. The second valid Sentry Key must be inserted in the lock cylinder within fifteen seconds of removing the first valid key.
  4. About ten seconds after the completion of Step 3, the security indicator in the instrument cluster will start to flash to indicate that the system has entered the Customer Learn programming mode.
  5. Within sixty seconds of entering the Customer Learn programming mode, turn the ignition switch to the Off position, replace the valid Sentry Key with a blank Sentry Key transponder, and turn the ignition switch back to the On position.
  6. About ten seconds after the completion of Step 5, the security indicator will stop flashing, stay on solid for three seconds , then turn off to indicate that the blank Sentry Key has been successfully programmed. The SKREES/ SKIS will immediately exit the Customer Learn programming mode. After the ignition is cycled the vehicle may be started using the newly programmed valid Sentry Key.
NOTE: The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter will also be programmed during this procedure.

Each of these steps must be repeated and completed in their entirety for each additional Sentry Key that is to be programmed. If the above steps are not completed in the given sequence, or within the allotted time, the SKREEM/ WCM will exit the Customer Learn programming mode and the programming will be unsuccessful. The SKREEM/ WCM will also automatically exit the Customer Learn programming mode if it sees a non-blank Sentry Key transponder when it should see a blank, if it has already programmed eight (8) valid Sentry Keys, or if the ignition switch is turned to the Off position for more than about fifty seconds .

NOTE:
  • If an attempt is made to start the vehicle while in the Customer Learn mode (security indicator flashing), the SKREES/SKIS will respond as though the vehicle were being started with an invalid key. In other words, the engine will stall after about two seconds of operation. No faults will be set.
  • Once a Sentry Key has been programmed as a valid key to a vehicle, it cannot be programmed as a valid key for use on any other vehicle.

2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Crank-No Start. Replaced FP.

Hey Tim take a look at this, will this help ?
SUBJECT:
No Engine Crank Or No Engine Start Due To Electronic Lockup Of The WCM / SKREEM
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves the replacement of the Wireless Control Module (WCM), and if
equipped, the replacement of the Electric Steering Column Lock (ELV). The WCM is also
referred to as the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM).
MODELS:
2007
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer will experience a no engine crank AND a no engine start condition. Also, the
remote keyless entry (RKE) system will not operate. This condition may be due to an
electrostatic discharge (ESD) from the ignition key into the Wireless Control Module
(WCM), causing the WCM to electronically lockup. This condition may occur more
frequently in dry and/or cold weather conditions where a sufficient electrostatic charge is
more easily produced. This condition is corrected by the replacement of the WCM
DIAGNOSIS:
1. With the condition present (i.e. the vehicle in the no crank / no start condition), connect
the StarSCAN® scan tool to the vehicle.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position, and power up the StarSCAN®.
3. If the WCM is electronically locked up, the StarSCAN® will display the WCM as being
“off bus”.
4. If the no crank / no start condition is present, and the WCM is “off bus”, then reset the
WCM by temporarily removing the IOD fuse (with the key out of the ignition switch),
wait for 10 seconds and then reinstall the IOD fuse.
5. With the IOD fuse reset having been performed, verify that the vehicle will now crank,
start, and run.
6. If the condition is temporarily corrected by performing the above steps, and if the part
number of the WCM is earlier than the part number of the WCM listed in the part
reference table in the Service Bulletin Parts Required Section below, then perform the
Repair Procedure.
