SOURCE: antitheft problem

Something in your anti theft system has failed. The key, transceiver, or module. The only way to find out is to run a diag on that circuit. You will need special tester.

1-insert and remove key from ignition two times

2-close and open driver door two times

3-insert and remove key once from ign.

4-close and open drvr door twice

5-insert key into ign.,then close driver door

6-turn key to on (not start) then off, twice this is rewrite mode, have all remotes to reprogram it will clear any lost remotes.

7-remove key from ignition, the door locks should cycle twice.if not start over.it may take a few tries.

8-press lock/unlock together and hold for a second

9-release,and press lock on remote, the door locks will cycle confirming program.continue to do other remotes you have, steps 8 and 9.if only one in possession, you are done. To end mode open door or insert key into ignition.

You'll need to follow the steps with no more than a 1-2 second delay between each step.. hope it works

SOURCE: how do i reset the

The system reset any time the correct ignition key is turned to the run position or the door is locked and unlocked with the key, there is a sensor on the lock cylinder. If this is what you have done then already then the system have problem and you will need the dealer to scan it for fault codes. You may have a defective key transponder sensor in the ignition lock cylinder.

2004 Ford Mustang. The alarm goes off when key hits 'On' position, won't start, anti theft light blinking, any pointers?

Better to buy a Battery Charger than a new battery. If it is 6 years old, fair enough, but they are so easy to charge with a 6 amp or 10 amp charger.

You need a key fob and you need all the spare keys pairing. Call a mobile auto electrician. His pro grade scan tool computer will diagnose any problems and code all the keys. If any of those keys are within 10 feet of the ignition lock, and incorrectly coded they are going to confuse the system.

1999 Mercury Grand Marquis anti-theft light comes on repeatedly when the key is in the ignition. Do the EEC relay play a role? i did move around a couple relay's. Any suggestions?

relays have nothing to do with it,you need to have the correct key fob for your car to reset it,eventually you wont be able to start it,this is warning lights.the fob has a chip in it,contact the ford dealer for help.

Why won't it start?

since the radio is resetting, i would first check the battery terminals. the radio has to power inputs, so if its resetting then your losing both at the same time. one wire more or less comes directly from battery, its the memory wire to get a presets and times.

Reset theft system manually

The theft system can usually be reset with the key fob by locking and unlocking the doors. You can try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds if the key fob does not reset the system

Can I transfer my keyfob?

If you have key less entry on the 99, then it can be reprogrammed. Instructions are in the manual, or you can call a ford dealer. I don't want to give you an improper procedure and frustrate you. But it only takes about 30 seconds.

I just put an instrument cluster from a 2000 mustang into my 1999 one and it set off my anti theft and now my car won't crank

The instrument cluster has to be programed to your keys. You will need two keys and someone to program them to the cluster.
