Inside the throttle body , an it has two .
Throttle Body Assembly
The throttle assembly contains the following components:
• The throttle blade
• The throttle actuator motor
• The throttle position (TP) sensor 1 and 2
• The throttle actuator control (TAC) module
The throttle body functions similar to a conventional throttle body with the following exceptions:
• There is no longer an idle air control (IAC) motor and associated air passages.
• An electric motor opens and closes the throttle valve.
• The TAC module is located within the throttle body assembly.
• The throttle blade is spring loaded in both directions and the default position is slightly open.
• There are 2 individual TP sensors within the throttle body assembly.
The TP sensors are used to determine the throttle plate angle. The TP sensors provide the powertrain control module (PCM) with a signal voltage proportional to throttle plate movement. Both TP sensor signal voltages are low at closed throttle and increase as the throttle opens.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

distributor module may be breeaking down as temp rises they fail!
otherwise do compression check as it may have valve problems
also check plug leads & injectors aswell as the fuel pump pressure [ could bestarving for fuel]

SOURCE: i need instructions on how to change a crankshaft

It's behind the harmonnic balance. You WILL need a special puller set for this job. A normal blancer puller will NOT work. Once you get the balance off it is bolted to the engine. I'm not sure where one would find the puller set from besides a tool guy. Some of the auto parts stores have special tools they will loan out. May want to try them. I would imagine that if you need to purchace the tool then it may be cheaper to pay someone to do it. I know they are expecive through the big tool companies. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: how to replace throttle position sensor on a 1995

Remove all parts to access the throttle-body, typically the sensor is on the side with 2 screws.  Remove the wired plug and then the two screws.  Assembly is the reverse being careful to fit the flat piece of the throttle-body into the groove of the sensor. Do not overtighten.
Replace connector and other parts.
Typically the sensor is on the drivers side of the throttle body. May be a torx screw, or phillips (star).
Good luck.
Canada Rocks!

SOURCE: I have a Pontiac Grand Prix GT, 3.8 Liter Motor.

Change the throttle sensor first, and see if the map sensor is a victum. throttle sensor is similar to an old volume reostat, on some cars and everything else tries to do react, and everything errors out.... My bet is throttle position sensor... But you never know, it CAN be both, just usually not both.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much for the answer. We'll try the Throttle Position sensor first. That does make sense as to what is happening."

2008 Pontiac G6 3.5, ECM 2009 from a 2008. I changed the ECM, everything is good except really high idle and I tap on pedal and it shoots to 5,000 rpm. Why?

Question edited for clarity and typos. Not sure what you mean by "ECM 2009 from a 2008" though.

There will always be a learning period when you put in a new ECM. First clean the Throttle Body and MAF.

Then you may need to relearn the Throttle Position Sensor.

You can Google all this stuff.
