SOURCE: warning light on dash says headlamps not leveling

There is an issue with the height control sensor on the Prius product. Is it still under warranty? If not, go back to the dealer and tell them that you want scheduled to see the District Service and Parts Operations Manager. When you meet with him/her, explain the situation, and the costs involved. He/she has the ability to grant "goodwill" assistance, and possibly help you out on the repair, with Toyota participating in some of the costs.
Can't hurt to try. More often than not, the DSPOMs are very flexible, and like to promote customer satisfaction.

SOURCE: brake lights stay on although the brake pedal is

You will probably find it is a problem with the switch on the brake pedal.
Get your self a cheap multi meter from an electronics store. Set it to meaure ohms. This is used to check if a connection is complete.

Take the wires off the switch on the brake pedal and test if the connection is open or closed. Push the pedal and check the connection again.

If the switch only had one wire then the negative connection is made to the body of the car. Put one probe of the volt against bare metal of the body somewhere and the other agains the terminal of the switch and test again.

This should tell you if the switch is broken. if the switch is good then you probably have a short circut somewhere between the brake lights and the switch. That is something has pinched or other wise broken the wire and it is touching metal of the car. You will have to follow the wires as best you can and look for damage.

Hope this helps

2002 VW Jetta parking lights, marker lights, & trunk lights not working. Replaced both fuses & all bulbs.

Most likely it's the headlamp switch but would require electrical testing at the dealership to confirm.

Fog lights

A detent is a "stop". The manual is telling you to pull out the switch until it stops. The rear fog lamp on my VW Polo works the same way. It may help you to know that on my VW (1) although the headlamps will come on without the engine on, the fog lamp requires the engine to be running, (2) the headlamp switch must be in the "on" position before you can pull it out to the detent position.
