Yes, a inoperable relay will cause a turn signal failure. But it isnt the only reason. If you need more information please write back. If you do, please write back with specific details about the issue and what you have done and tried so far. Good luck.

SOURCE: How do I remove the running light/turn signal assembly

open the hood, and look at the top of the headlight assembly. There should be a couple of L-shaped pins sticking down through it. Some had two, some only had one, so adjust as necessary. Pull the pins, and remove the headlight. As for the turn signal, there should be a plastic clip that holds it on, that you have to push on in order for it to release. When you get it released, you should be able to pull it away from the body.

SOURCE: Where is the Turn Signal relay located on a '00 Intrigue?

It's up under the left side of the dash, attached to the same bracket as the body control module. But sometimes the problem is in the hazard switch - try pressing it when the signals don't work and that often brings them back to life. Also, check the ground wire to the left of the base of the steering column.

2010 GMC Sierra RIGHT FRONT signal light staying on when truck is shut off. Any clue as to why? Bruce

If the right front signal light of your 2010 GMC Sierra stays on even when the truck is shut off, it could be due to a few possible reasons:
1. Stuck Relay: There might be a malfunctioning relay in the turn signal circuit that is causing the right front signal light to remain illuminated. A stuck relay can keep the circuit closed even when the vehicle is turned off. In this case, you may need to have the relay replaced or repaired.
2. Faulty Wiring: It's possible that there is a wiring issue in the turn signal circuit, causing a constant power supply to the right front signal light. This could be due to a short circuit or a damaged wire. Inspecting the wiring harness and connections for any signs of damage or loose connections would be necessary. If a faulty wire is found, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
3. Malfunctioning Switch: The turn signal switch itself could be defective or stuck in the "on" position. This can cause the right front signal light to remain illuminated regardless of the vehicle's status. Replacing the turn signal switch might be necessary if it is determined to be the cause of the issue.
To pinpoint the exact cause and resolve the problem, it is recommended to have a qualified mechanic or an automotive electrician inspect your GMC Sierra. They will have the expertise and necessary tools to diagnose the issue accurately and carry out the required repairs.

I have a 2000 GMC P/U and the dealership gave me a 1999 manual. the fuse block is different. Which fuse contols the driver's side turn signals

None, check your light bulb socket and voltage if you have a 12v probe.
Turn your 4 ways on and see what's flashing.
Probes are cheap and a great thing to have.
Probe the socket and see if you have power.
You don't say if it's the front or rear, that would help.
Also it could be your turn signal switch or light sockets.

Where is the turn signal flasher on a 95 gmc 1500 pick up

There are 2 Flasher Relays. One for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights. Both flasher relays are located on the driver's side, under the dash, mounted in the fuse panel. Make sure you replace the correct one.
