Question about Hyundai Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Where is the door lock relay located in a 2012 hyundai Santa Fe? My mom's 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe will not power lock. I can manually lock all four passenger doors and the driver's side door with my key. However there is no way to lock the trunk. Locking the doors with a key fob gives a clicking noise but does nothing else. If I press the lock button on the driver's side and front passenger door panel, nothing happens. The doors also do not automatically lock when the gear is put into drive. Oddly enough the car unlocks fine! Unlocks with the keyfob, panel buttons and when gear is in park. I changed out the door lock fuse but same issue. From another thread, a poster mentioned replacing the door lock relay. Infact, the problem can be tested by switching the unlock relay and lock relay. Only problem is I cannot find where the door lock relay is located. I believe it's suppose to be behind the fuse box but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help with a manual, tutorial or video? Google isn't helping much with my specific issue. Thank you in advance!

One of your door lock inside switches are bad.Find the one that doesn't feel right when you push it in either lock or unlock. The internal spring is broke causing the lock relay to keep try to lock or unlock until it gets hot & protects.

Insert key into door barrel or ignition lock and turn key, whilst doing this press the unlock/lock button, the led on the dash should flash to indicate this has initialised the key to the car, then remove key and test operation of remote. If this fails then a new remote plus coding to the car by your dealership is needed

sounds like it may be the flasher relay location as indicated in below.

Door locks 2013 hyundai santa fe

The rear door problem is the lock actuator. The problem with locks keep activated when you close driver door. My uncle's Santa Fe has same problem and couldn't fix problem under any circumstances. I even rebuilt the entire lock system didn't help

WHEN FRONT DRIVERS DOOR IS OPENED IT LOCKS ALL DOORS AND WHEN SHUTTING IT OPENS , COULD IT BE THE WIRING LOOM IN THE DOOR

The problem you describe is either door lock/unlock actuator(s), or could be wiring to the relays (door lock relay and door 'unlock' relay. The best advice is have this problem properly diagnosed bya qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician. OR

Go to www.hmaservice.com and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, illustrations and procedures, etc

Hyundai santa fe 2002 remote key fob locking ok but fails to unlock. suspect micro switch faulty. can it be replaced?

Do the doors lock normally when using the manual switch on the dirver's door panel? If so, the problem is in the ETACS module. Here's the wiring diagram:
