2004 Lincoln LS V8. Diagnosed a bad ECU. Installed new ECU. I’m aware of having to take it to the dealer to have it flashed. Will I get absolutely no response from turning ignition key to on position? When I hook up battery all I get are headlights that stay on. No dash lights or anything else. No response from key.

If the unit does not come already programmed. It would act as if not computer was installed (just lights). A used ECU could be used for tested or to repair but a new unit needs to be programmed and updated. If it was already programmed and justed needed to be reflashed then you have other problems.

Will a scan tool communicate with all the vehicle control modules , any DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored ? Not a code reader , a professional scan tool . That's the place to start , not guessing an just replacing parts . Who diagnosed bad PCM ?

it needs to go to a dealer or mechanic as anything involved with the ignition is behind that area.

have your battery and alternator tested. sounds like battery. No need to replace cable unless it is frayed or in poor conditin.

SOURCE: 2003 Lincoln LS V8, Won't turn over after errors

Forget the four coils. That is a common problem, but I would question 4 failing.
The ABS ,Parking Brake,Speedo Etc,where nothing to worry about, you were loosing power, when it went to fail safe,so they came up.

ETC -is Electronic Throttle Control, your problem? Maybe
You will need to have a scanner put on it's,daignostic connector under the dash,to check for codes. Them only a trained technician can follow a chart or test proceedure to properly repair.
I have a 2004 LS,one of Ford most high tech and complicated vehicles.
Conclusion: only a professional can repair you car.
I would start with a local shop. If money you have money to throw away,go to a dealer.
Most likely have to wave to it on a flat bed carrier. Don't flat tow it.

Will a 2000 lincoln ls rack and pinion fit on a 2004 lincoln ls? Does it matter if it's v6 or v8? I have a 2004 lincoln ls 3.9 liter v8 and need a rack and pinion. Somebody please HELP.

engine size is immaterial when it comes to steering
what matters is body length, mounting positions and methods, tie rod lengths , position of pinion , method f attaching steering shaft
best if you go to a wreckers and view both steering assemblies side by side to check any differences
or you can pull both out and interchange or you can go to a dealer spares and see if the boxes have the same part numbers
or you can ring a steering specialist shop and ask if there is any differences

Pcv 2004 lincoln ls v8 where

For the Lincoln LS V8, there is a flexable tube on the drivers side of the engine that runs from the valve cover/crankcase to the air intake tube. There isnt a PCV valve for this engine, it is just a tube for ventilation.

My 2002 Lincoln LS v6 Lost Engine Power,Traction Control Light was flashing & ABS light Came on! ANY IDEA?

Had the same problem with my 2002 Lincoln LS, it was a bad wheel speed sensor. The right front wheel bearing had some play in it, so I had the hub assembly replaced. The hub assembly comes with a new wheel speed sensor attached. After I replaced the hub assmbly with sensor, the ABS and Traction Control lights went off. No problem since!

Just back from Ford Lincoln dealer, they advise my 2004 Lincoln V8 LS airconditoner needs a new control valve. How would I install it?

I have the same car & all the factory manuals

Your going to have to be more specific on the
name of the part

Dual Coolant Control Valve -- not part of the A/C
but does fail eventually

You can see it down a little under the A/C
Receiver Drier

It has 3 spring hoses clamps & 1 screw holding
it on

The problem ---you can't get your hands in there

I watched a tech at a lincoln dealer doing one
Didn't look easy

I have a lincoln ls 04 v8 3.9 the computer has giving me these code p2107 p2110 can some one help please

You have COP Ignition Coils Misfiring

They are bad enough to spike the PCM
and come back on the TPS Sensor and set
the 2107 & 2110 TACM Codes
(Throttle Actuator Control Motor)

You should have about 5 more codes

I just replace the coil packs in the 05 lincoln LS less than a year ago. If I get autozone to run a check on the car, will the codes come up as to which coil is bad?

I asked you get back to me on the other page.
You will have 1 or 2 COP Coils go bad every year
I also own a 2004 V8

Yes and no
I asked that you get the codes

PO301 thruPO308,the last # being the cylinder

If you get just a MIL Lamp and say a PO 303,you can
replace that coil and see what happens

The example I gave you on the ETC Failsafe, is not something a dealer
is aware of. People on this site have spent up to $4000.00 at a dealer
when my 1 bad coil, you install yourself, would have cost $70.00

You will get several codes that you ignore, on an LS and stay with the
coil swapping.

I hope you have a V8 or the intake will have to be removed to do some
coils.

You may want my phone #, so you can knock this down your self
Do you have a 7mm wrench and socket. That is all you need on a V8

To answer your question another way
If autozone gives you several codes,3 are coil codes ,then what?
I have the answer,it it not to replace all the coils.

2004 lincoln ls,v6,no codes,no power when apply the gas pedal.

Did you check fuel pressure? Fuel filter fairly new? Air filter clean and all duct work tight? Battery voltage good when engine is running? Check Throttle Position Sensor for codes and values. Also Ignition coils go bad on these ,as often as you change your socks. TPS is avail on line and auto parts store. You do not have to go to dealer or change entire throttle body, just the sensor,if bad.

You will need a new TPS Sensor,Egr Valve, Ignition Coil or two and a Transmission Solenoid Pack, pretty soon. I have a 2004 V8 L/S. Tough car to troubleshoot and a never ending saga,as is most Fords.
