The power window switch and motor, any of this can be the issue. If the motor is getting stuck or motor is getting weak, then this problem will be intermittent. If the switch is not completely faulty , but its wires are getting loose or getting short, then this can also cause this intermittent problems.

There are many other possibilities too:---

This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
I have a 2004 Jeep Grand as well. It is Def without question a broken wire in the rubber boot in the door. It is an easy fix. Happened to me twice. Same issues occured when mine broke. You can do it yourself, pretty simple.
Its possible that it is the same problem. All of the power windows get their power from the matser (drivers front door) window switch. Sometimes the wires going from the switch break. Check the wires that go between the drivers front door and the body, they flex every time the door opens and closes.
I WOULD CHECK THE WIRING BETWEEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND THE POST..YOU WILL SEE A RUBBER BOOT BETWEEN DOOR POST AND DOOR..HAVE SEEN PARTIALLY BROKEN WIRES CAUSE ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS HERE
The most likely problem is a bad window motor. Remove the door panel and meter the switch, if power is getting to the switch and passing through the switch it is the motor. If power gets to the switch but not out the other side to the motor it is the switch.
REMOVE MASTER SWITCH UNPLUG IT 12V TEST LIGHT YOU SHOULD HAVE TWO HOT WIRES . IF THERES POWER THE PROBLEM IS IN THE WIRING HARNESS FROM THE DOOR TO THE THE VEHICLE. THE WIRES TEND TO BREAK AT THIS POINT. YOU DID CHECK FUSES AND WINDOW RELAY
Likely you are looking for a 30 amp circuit breaker...(Looks like a small rectangular metal fuse) But...if the power door locks work, i don't think that it's bad (serves locks & windows) My diagrams show a bunch of diodes and resistors inside the master (drivers) door switch, but I've had a few apart and never saw any. (embedded?) Personally I don't see anything that shows me reliability built into the switch...It's a really "iffy" design (one in my niece's Jeep only works when the sun shines on the drivers door) There is also a control module associated with the windows but I've never needed to replace one and the manuals never tell you where they are! Check power at the switch and check harness where it goes through the rubber boot between the door and body. at least 80% of problems I've seen are either the switch or that wiring. Wires can be spliced and you can get a decent used switch at most scrap yards. Good luck...glad they aren't stuck down!!!
try replacing the master switch it maybe malfunctioning due to wear.or may have shorted out by getting wet or something.since it is the primary control for all windows and power door locks.
its very possible that the main driver switch has corroded and it not making good contact. I had a 1999 jeep sport cherokee and if I wiggled the switch in the drivers door at night ( as to see the switch illuminate ) it would flicker there for show it wasn't getting power all the time. If I held the window switch or pressed on it a certain way the door switch that would not work would then work. I hope this helped you? Those door panel switch get corroded and do not make good contact, there for lose of power..
