Pull the tail lamp assembly passenger side an disconnect the 5 pin connector at the back .With a test light or volt ohmmeter test for battery voltage at pin B lite blue wire , while someone pushes the brake pedal . If you have battery volt , replace the taillamp assembly . know internal problems in the tail lamp assembly .

Check the prones inside the connector that you plug into the brake light module. You may have to squeeze, wiggle, tilt each one to see which one is not connecting all that good. I know it may sound confusing. I tried to explain the best of I could.

SOURCE: Emergency Flashers totally out, Rear lights malfunctioning

Check the ground on the passenger side rear lights, it's likely bad. As for the hazards, sounds like a bad flasher or fuse.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

The problem is that the tail lights, light bulbs get too hot and melt the plastic where the bulb socket goes into the lens assembly. On the lens assembly you will see one to three metal tabs where the socket fits into. Lift up the tab a little bit with a screw driver and place a small amount of either metal or plastic underneath the tab so it will get a good connection. It will fix the problem.

Did you put in a single one double element bulb in the housing.

A double element bulb has two lighted filaments, one that lights with tail lights and one that lights up with brake lights.

If it is a double element bulb, are both lit up when installed and brake pedal not pressed. If so, check break light switch under dash board at top of brake pedal.

Why does brake assembly fail when I press pedal?

Check for loose contacts or wiring that is causing a short circuit near the brake pedal, or at the rear light.

Have installed new (rebuilt) calipers on '83 El Dorado. Parking brake doesn't work on passenger side. Had to use tool to press piston in far enough for installation on other side (driver) but this...

Your description gives me a suspicion the calipers weren't rebuilt to a very high standard.

The pistons don't turn as they are pushed out but mostly they have to be rotated or screwed and pressed in prior to fitting the pads.

Once fitted and bled ensure the caliper parking brake lever is hard against the backstop and then press the brake pedal hard a few times and the adjustment should be complete after removing any slack or free play from the parking brake cable.
With a new or quality rebuilt caliper a good parking brake should be obtained without needing to shorten the cable so the caliper levers are lifted from the backstops. That is the sort of compromise needed as the internal components become worn.

Rear passenger side wheel/brake locking at first touch of pedal

You possibly have air in your lines. When you bleed them you need to start at the rear passenger, then rear driver, then front passenger and then front driver. If you are certain you have no air in the line then you have a bad brake hose/brake line. Replace this and your problem should go away. If not then the culprit should be the distribution or master cylinder. I hope this helps.

Troubleshooting 1984 chrysler back brake lights

There is a contact (not short) between wire to brake light and to back light on passenger side, when you press the pedal, electricity is absorbed by barake light bulb and back light dim out. Check cables and connectors, if necessary follow back cables to battery.
If the contact is a short the back lights fuse will blow, I think it is a contact between same polarity cables, not a short.
