Does that mean the whole pc. with 2 levers under the steering wheel? Or something else?

I'll check a wiring and fuse schematic if I can get it to pull up online. The program I have is locking up on me . A fuse or wiring issue is possible . Rock Auto lists turn signal switches as separate as well as both levers . From $25 to $70 according to the options . Used may be worn out too even if you can find one . If my program unlocks I will see about the fuses and post back .

SOURCE: Turn signals do not work at all.

Hi iveybunch

please check your thermal flasher ( the gizmo the makes the turn signals work)

It's probably in the fuse panel in the dash. Usually just to the left of where the drivers knee is located

It's a little silver can. You can get one aat any auto parts store

Hope this helps. Loringh PS please leave a rating if appropriate Thanks

SOURCE: Does a broken timing belt permanently damage a Mercury Tracer

depends on the Engine in the car.

1.9L SOHC (SEFI on Valve Cover)engine, no, they are non-interferance engines, put a new timing belt on it and go.

1.8 DOHC engine, yes, it will destroy the valves, head, pistons, and if really bad, the block too. These engines are interferance engines, where the valves just barely miss the piston as it comes up, and when the belt breaks it will hit the valves and destroy the engine.

SOURCE: LEFT TURN SIGNAL LTS STAYING ON AS WELL AS IND.

Yep, happened to me as well. Same side and everything. Turns out they have to replace a component on the BCM by replacing the BCM itself. Runs about $1000 - $1200 at the dealer. Tough luck but there is a chance it is still covered under your warranty.

SOURCE: my 1997 mercury sable signal lights dont work

The flasher module is responsible for the flashing of the turn signals and hazards. this device will fail overtime. you will need to replace this failed module asap. Replacing the flasher will restore the signal functions in this vehicle. (Check the bulbs before replacing the flasher)

SOURCE: turn signal and hazard do not work

please have the bulbs and wiring checked then if all are ok! the problem would be either the swtch or the flasher unit!!!!!!!

93 mercury tracer turn signal flasher

I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master.
It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com

1993 Mercury Tracer backup lights won't light even after replacement. Must be a fuse. But fuse box deoesn't have a label for the backup lights. Must be connected to another fuse. No owner manual....

Go to autozone.com and register for free. Registration will give you access to manuals for your car, one of which will have a diagram of the fuse panel with an explanation of each fuse.

My alternator went out and i got it fixed but now nothing works

Check the BIG fuses there near the battery, they may have a cover. Maybe someone shorted one out while replacing the alternator.

1993 mercury tracer

To replace the headlight on a 1993 Tracer you must turn the black plastic retainer ring counter clockwise and then pull back gently. The ring and bulb should then slide out toward the engine.
Carefully grab the sides of the plug and pull the bulb out.
When replacing the bulb make sure not to touch the glass part or it will cause the bulb to burn out sooner. Place the black ring back over the bulb with the open end towards the glass part of the bulb. Fit the wiring onto the back of the bulb and insert the bulb back into the reflector. The black plastic ring has notches that fit over protrusions. Turn the black ring clockwise and your done. Test the headlight. Happy Driving
