2003 Saturn Vue Man Trans. 80,000 miles. Idles very rough and has a difficult time accelerating at low speeds. I have not tried going faster than 20 mph.
Service Engine Light Flashes, but the code reader I have states no error codes are found.
I would take it in and have them do a diagnostic on it, sounds like the cam shaft sensor to me.
I would start with spark plugs- check condition and gap.
Malfunctioning Throttle body. needs cleaning or replacing. A bad camshaft sensor makes it hard to crank, sounds like not geting fire from coil pack or out of fuel...I'd definitely check the Electronic throttle body..inside parts gone badReplace it ,problems gone.

Let me add some additional information. I attempted a cheap fix and changed the plugs and started the car back up.
It idled fine for about 30 seconds then the rough idle returned and the car stalled out. I had some difficulty restarting the vehicle and had to press the accelerator immediately after hearing the engine turn over to get it to run.
Does this still fit in with the cam shaft sensor? Is there a way to test the sensor at home for proper operation (using an ohmmeter or other device)?
The way the car is running, it is in no condition to drive it anywhere for a diagnostic, so I am attempting as much as I can at home
i was wondering if you ever figured your problem out because you described EXACTLY what my vue is doing
