SOURCE: 2002 monte carlo will not charge has a new battery

When the engine is running fast idle, the battery voltage should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts if the alternator is delivering charge to the battery. If the old alternator had a shorted diode, the very high current from the battery back through that diode will burn out what is known as a fuse link which is located within the wiring harness and it will effectively disconnect the alternator output from the battery. The battery end is connected at the starter terminal where the positive battery cable also connects.

SOURCE: My P38 Range Rover wont start

Hi Adam,

Bring your vehicle to an auto parts or battery store. Ask if they could perform a 'Load Check' on your battery. This not only checks the voltage, but also the amps, as if it were under the load of turning your engine.

It takes a few seconds and the results are pass or fail. Fail means it's time for a new battery. Pass means we need to look elsewhere.

Comment back the results.

Hope you find this to be very helpful

SOURCE: 2006 Range Rover Sport heater and A/C fan do not

Check all electrical conections. If they are good then it is probably the switch itself.

Testimonial: "I'll take a look at the switch. All connections seem fine."

SOURCE: A battery light came on

Might be really simple like a battery terminal connector is loose. Check the connectors are tight.. if not tighten the clamps. If the terminal connector is loose you may find that you also have difficulty in starting. If terminal connectors are on tight but still have the issue then check the connections to the alternator (clean and tight) and likewise the earth return strap between the engine to the car frame. If you have access to a voltmeter the battery, with the engine off should read 12.4 volts between the terminals and 14.4 volts when the engine is running.

My battery keeps going flat

You need to get the alternator checked as it keeps the battery charged. If you have a multimeter, then connect it to the battery with the engine running. It should show around 13 to 14 volts. If it shows 12 or so, then the alternator is not working.

My heater blower not working on my range rover 2003 any ideas anyone

Check for 12 volt at the blower motor, if it's there, once you turn your blower and ignition on and motor doesn't work, you have a bad motor. If it's not there, check your fuses, blower switch and blower resistor pack.

Make sure you have it connected properly. If so check your maxi fuse in case something grounded or the battery wasn't disconnected during the removal or reinstall. Make sure you have a fully charged battery.and that your battery leads are not corroded up the strand.
