Sometimes on new rads there's a little tap on the bottom corner, check to see if it is open, also did you run the vehicle for about a 1/2 hour or so with the rad cap OFF. This is what is called bleeding the air out of the rad. If the air is not removed completely out of the radiator, then it will not cool properly and it will get a vaccume lock, which won't allow the fluid to circulate throughout the rad and engine.
Remember that the rad will only work properly when it's under the proper working pressure, around 14psi, and that is when there is NO air trapped in the rad or the vehicle's water jacket.
Good luck and keep an eye out for leeks once you have ALL of the air out of the system.

Its your waterpump
Testimonial: "So where's the water spewingout from then?"
Where would the water be spewing out from though?
There is a small hole in the waterpump, reason is to notify you the pump is starting to fail which in turn allows water to escape, if you look at the fan belt and if it is driving a pulley midway on the engine, if not the pump could be driven the timing belt, so may not be visible, I would advise getting it fixed pronto, as if the pump fails completely it can cause other damage.
It's the amount of water as a crackled radiat or would spew out. It's a lot. It's drained after about 5 mins of driving.
The radiator is spewing water! Badddly. Found it today.towing it home now actually but what keeps causing the radiators to give out other then corrosion because it's not corroded it's fairly brand new

Intake gaskets. Do a cooling system test .
SOURCE: Land Rover Discovery 1996 3.9 V8i Cooling Problems
you need to replace the heater core and pressure text the radiator cap, replace if it leaks down go to a parts store to do this also you need to replace freeze plugs if you don't they will blow and ruin the engine,a slo check that the water pump is not bad, loosen the pump belt and see if you can wiggle the water pump with fan connected, if you have any play replace the water pump. and add new anti freeze.

I have experienced a few radiators on both discoveries and series 2 range rovers being blocked causing overheating. Also might pay to check your fan hub when the engine is hot switch off and check how freely you can turn the fan

That car holds 8 quarts of oil. Thats why its still low. You may have head gasket problems. Find a shop that is familiar with your Northstar engine, its going to be big bucks.

Subaru's boxer engines have a known problem of blowing headgaskets, especially in the 90's (I have a 98 Impreza RS myself and have had mine blow.
Check to see if your oil looks milky? or bubbly at all. Or if there is exhaust dust or or oil in your coolant reservoir. If you have either one of those problems, you probably need to replace your headgaskets.
You should also check out your radiator fans. Notice if they both come on after the car is running for a while. They BOTH should after the engine gets hot. Drive it a couple miles, stop and check. If both fans don't come on, check the fan relays and also make sure you plugged in both connectors on the bottom of the radiator.
Goodluck!

Car
not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can
be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it
can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or
no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition
coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned. To
confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required. Click
this link below and follow the troubleshooting:------ http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/02/car-starting-issues.html --------- This will help. Thanks.
