SOURCE: What causes 2004 Lincoln LS with V8 to go into
Over heating causes it to shut down 2 cyl n run on 6 cyl to help cool it down but once that happens the best is to shut it off check the cooling system check for antifreeze make sure its full then take the ground off the battery that's in the trunk beside the spare tire n leave the postive on but take off negative n leave it off for 5 mins then hook it back on it will turn the safe mode off back to normal. That's what I did to my 04 lincoln LS v8 3.9l... hope this helps ya
SOURCE: does a 2003 engine 3.9 v8 lincoln ls fit a 2001 lincoln ls ?
Yes both years used that engine.
SOURCE: I have a 2003 Lincoln LS V8, today I got ETC
Failed COP Ignition Coil or several
Do not use it if the Mil Lamp flashes -as that is
an exhaust converter damaging Class A Misfire
If it stays lite it is a Class B
You can walk a new coil from one cylinder to the
next or spend money to have pro scan tool look at
cylinder misfire counts
I have the same car 2004 V8
For $59.00 & a 7mm socket-- I would do all your
own work,not that hard
May take several days to find the bad coil or several
I had 6 fail at one time & had one that shut off when ever
it felt like it & it took me 8 months to solve & that is with
professional software, which didn't help any in that case
It is NOT NOT NOT any TPS Sensor & is NOT NOT NOT
the Throttle Body
Do not listen to anyone period, ask me I have the car &
the experience
DO NOT REPLACE ANYTHING BUT THE IGNITION COILS
The ETC Failsafe is---Electronic Throttle Control
IT IS NOT THE PROBLEM ---the etc is the APP which is the
gas pedal,it is NOT the throttle body either
SOURCE: how to bypass the heater core properly in an 04 lincoln ls 3.9 v8
Find two hoses going from engine to heater core via firewall. Remove them from engine and install another hose connecting water inlet with water outlet. Don't forget to use clamps
