Removing the door panel from a 97 Chevy S-10 pu truck

I am trying to get the panel off to replace the driver side mirror and to replace the screws that hold the exterior door handle on.

I have removed the screws from the armrest. I have removed the window handcrank handle. I have removed the screw from the inside door handle. I have also gotten the clips loose that attach the panel to the door.

Problem: I cannot get the casing loose frombehind the inside door handle.... stumped! I am afraid to force it in fear that I may break it. I notice there is a crack or opening at the rear of this casing... Help!

Need to replace drivers side rear view mirror, powered. I have the new mirror, just need to know how t install it.

Hi,
You remove the door panel on the inside and it is bolted on from the inside. One wire clip and 3 bolts. Takes longer to remove and replace the door panel than replace the mirror....look for a hidden screw under the armrest , under the window/door lock button panel and sometimes behind the reflector or light on the bottom of door..Usually there are 3-4 screws and then the rest of the panel is held on by plastic clips. Get the screws out, then work a flat screwdriver or putty knife around the sides and bottom of panel, then lift upwards to get the top sealing side out of the track where the window runs.....Mike

Replacing driver's side mirror on a 1994 Chevy Lumina sedan

There are screws that hold the door panel on. They are typically located behind the small round plastic covers. If you look at the bottom of the door handle, you will see them. Also on the door lever, there might be a screw. After removing all of the screws, take a flat head screw driver, and gently pry up the panel. There are plastic clips that hold the panel securely to the door. Doing this will pop them out one at a time. Once the door panel is loose, lift it up, and it should come right out. Be sure to disconnect any wiring harness connectors before fully removing.

PASSENGER MIRROR

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

I need to replace passenger side mirror on 97 ford expedition

Both above answers are not right... I just replaced the Pass side power mirror assembly on my 97 Expedition. No heat, no directional.
The inside door panel must come off.
1. pry off interior triangular plastic trim piece inside of door at mirror area. Remove door panel screw at this area.
2. Pry off power window switch panel and remove door panel screw at this area.
3.Remove interior door light cover and remove screw at this area.
4. Remove plastic cover at door handle.
5. The interior door panel can now be lifted up to release it from it's fasteners.
6. Disconnect light and push power window switch assembly through the door panel and it can be set aside.
7. Disconnect mirror power at coupler.
8 Loosen three mirror mounting screws with 7/16 socket. DO NOT unscrew completely.. the will fall down the door cavity. Use a round magnet on holder to remove the screws completely.
9.Thread electrical connection into door panel and install mirror.
10. Smile when mirror works and drink a beer!

Replace Driver's side mirror - Jeep Liberty 2002

The door panel has plastic clips that hold it in place also. Put a thin blade screwdriver between the panel and door. Pry the panel away from the door. The panel will make a loud snapping noise, that is the clip coming out of the retaining hole. Sometimes the clips break.
